CORNWELL 2A

This expansive 3000 sqft apartment was designed for a young, well-traveled family returning to Bangalore to settle near loved ones. With a shared passion for design and a desire to infuse joy into everyday life—especially during their children’s early years—the project transformed a conventional bare shell into a vibrant, flowing home.

The layout naturally transitions from public to private zones. The living, dining, and bar areas welcome guests openly, while bedrooms remain tucked at the far end, separated by a semi-open dry kitchen that acts as a gentle barrier.

Entry begins with a striking solid black door opening to a dramatic foyer—a preview of the home’s personality. A deep green base layer anchors the space, topped by bold black-and-white patterned wallpaper and an eye-catching painting. Nearby, a show storage unit with arched seating in pale burnt orange adds a playful contrast to the color drama.

In the living area, we created distinct yet connected zones: a comfortable seating section alongside a library clad in bold zebra print that commands attention. Within the library, a cozy nook offers a quiet escape for reading, framed by warm wood finishes and views of exterior trees. The space extends through arched openings—one direction to a generous indoor-outdoor balcony, the other to the bar and dining.

The bar, positioned between living and dining, remains relatively restrained with elegant shelves for bottles and curated artwork. The dining area continues the theatrical flair: a base of rich wood paired with large black-and-white nature wallpaper forms a dramatic backdrop for the wood dining table. Overlooking the balcony, it’s lush with green plants that blur the line between indoors and out.

The balcony itself is the heart of the home—a lively retreat with a swing, fixed seating, abundant plants, and exterior-grade flooring that invites relaxation and play.

Private areas reflect the family’s global experiences. The master bedroom draws inspiration from tropical beach resorts, with clean beige bathrooms for a serene retreat. The kids’ room bursts with fun: a large play area suspended above the bed, a round bed below, integrated toy storage and wardrobe at lower levels, and a sunset-themed backdrop that keeps the playful spirit alive throughout.

This apartment celebrates their worldly adventures while creating a joyful, evolving home base for the years ahead.
